Turning 3’s

T/Th
Students in Turning Threes have a combination of Mother’s Day Out and Preschool. They go to Chapel, library and music, but still have time to nap and work on potty training. Turning Threes classes have a theme each week. The theme may be farm, dinosaurs, rodeo, ocean, space or others. With the theme, the children create art, sing, play interactive games, cook or read related books. The room is center-based which means that children will choose puzzles, free art, blocks, housekeeping, dress-up, manipulatives, books or games. The Foundry staff takes great effort to prepare our students for the next age level.

Preschool 3’s

T/Th, M/W/F
For children who have turned three by September 1. Preschool threes are taking in all that is around them. We offer plenty of exploration to stimulate their natural curiosity! Preschool threes classes explore a theme a week. With the various themes, the children create art, sing, learn, play interactive games, cook or read related books. The room is center-based which means that children will choose puzzles, free art, blocks, housekeeping, dress-up, manipulatives, books or games. Foundry staff takes great effort to prepare our students for the next age level. We assess the students throughout the year and evaluate each child’s learning. Preschool students are expected to be potty trained. If they are not, a $25 fee will be assessed until the child becomes potty trained.

Pre-Kindergarten

M/W/F, T/Th/F, M-Th
For children who have turned 4 by September 1. PreK students, like all children under the age of 7, learn through play. Play is a child’s work and how they learn. We make it fun! PreK classes explore a theme a week. With the theme, the children create art, sing, do math lessons, play interactive games, cook or read related books. The room is center-based which means that children will choose puzzles, free art, blocks, housekeeping, dress-up, manipulatives, books or games. Foundry staff takes great effort to prepare our students for the increasing demands of kindergarten. We have implemented the Neuhaus phonics program that Cy-Fair ISD uses to teach pre-reading skills and we work closely with the administration in the district to make sure there is a smooth transition between preschool and kindergarten. We assess the students throughout the year and evaluate each child’s learning. We offer parent conferences to keep each parent informed about the child’s progress.
