Light Seekers Life Group

January 15, 2020

To me, LightSeekers has meant more than a weekly Sunday school class.  We have built relationships with folks that are now closer than family, not just socially but also spiritually, learning and growing together.  We serve together, through numerous community outreach programs (garage sales, Judy Dierker holiday markets, mission trips, Kairos cookies, homeless care packages, teaching Sunday school classes and more).  But we also serve each other and have walked side by side and hand in hand through marriages, starting and raising families, death of loved ones and tragedies and sicknesses, and all the adventures that that come with life. We have laughed and cried and been through high and lows with each other. Some even married each other!

He taught us to love one another…We are His village and we support and love each other and we grow through our studying of Him and living it out day by day.

Annually, our life group has celebrated Jesus’ birth at the Hill house by reading about His birth from scripture, played a white elephant ornament exchange and also selected a local organization to support that year by bringing a variety of items to donate. We have in the past supported Montrose Street Reach with sleeping bags and also a central Houston church with collegiate gear to encourage inner city students to go beyond.
