NEW Ladies Life Group: Simply

December 12, 2018

Simply—devoted, reflective, and connected!

What would it look like if we were simply devoted, reflective, and connected women of God? Life can get complicated and messy. We wake up with an “I’ve got to…” list swimming in our head, and once our feet hit the floor, we are off to check the boxes. Sometimes, even our quiet time with God is a check on a list. And often it is a check that goes unchecked.

A new ladies life group is starting on January 9th at the Fry Road campus to help simplify our daily walk with the Lord by encouraging daily devotions, reflections, and connections that are powerful yet simple. We will Simply engage in…

  • Devotion—Start each day with a quiet time with God through First 5, a devotional created by Proverbs 31 Ministries. You may access it as an app on your smart device or online. Proverbs 31 Ministries developed it “in order to connect your heart to God’s Word the First 5 minutes of your day…so you can exchange whispers with God before shouts with the world” (http://www.first5.org). Each day is devoted to a section of scripture and a teaching from a member of a team of contributing authors.

  • Reflection—By beginning your day with at least five minutes of devotion, you will open your heart, mind, and soul to reflecting on what God’s word is speaking to you and allowing it to permeate your day—let it perk awhile and see how your day is impacted by it.

  • Connection—Hebrews 10:25 says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (NIV). We will come together each week on Wednesday night from 6-8:30 to encourage one another as we worship together, discuss insights from our daily devotions, and support each other through prayer and fellowship.

Come on January 9th and get a taste of what God may have in store for you through this Life Group. We look forward to welcoming each of you into Simply a life devoted, reflective, and connected!
